Film-Tract n° 1968 (1968)
Created amid the political unrest of 1968, this three-minute film-tract by Jean-Luc Godard and artist Gérard Fromanger opens with its title painted in red on a copy of Le Monde. The camera then observes thick red paint flowing across a surface, gradually revealing the white and blue of the French flag as the image expands. The film documents the creation of Fromanger’s politically charged poster artwork.
